Hiraeth Homeopathy

About me

My name is Sarah Wheat, following my own healing experiences with homeopathy I decided to train to become a homeopath. I am passionate about increasing awareness of homeopathy and supporting people on their journey towards improved health and wellbeing. I am in my and final year of training which means I can undertake supervised clinical practice. This means all my consultations will take place under the guidance of an experienced, qualified homeopath with almost 30 years of professional experience. Consultations are held online, with both myself and my supervisor present. All prescriptions are checked and verified by my supervisor.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine which recognises we are all unique. When we become ill we will experience that illness in our own unique way.

If we have a cold and so does our colleague we will experience that cold differently, our response will be different from theirs. They may have a sore throat and a cough while we are sneezing and have a headache. Homeopathy recognises this so these two expressions of the cold would be treated using remedies that match the symptoms that individual is experiencing rather than there being one remedy to treat a cold.

One of the main principals of homeopathy is that like cures like – this means that a substance capable of producing symptoms in a healthy person can remove those symptoms in an ill person when given in a highly diluted homeopathic remedy. For more than 200 years homeopathy has taken substances from nature and carefully recorded the symptoms the substances cause in healthy people. Homeopaths then match these substances, that are made into homeopathic remedies as closely as possible to the individual patient and the symptoms they are experiencing to encourage their own healing response to return them back to health. Because the remedies are highly diluted and we use only the minimum dose needed to bring about healing, homeopathic remedies are rapid, gentle and effective without unwanted side effects.

The principles of Homeopathy

Two of the main principles of Homeopathy are that ‘Like Cures Like’ and using the ‘Minimum Dose’. Like cures like as explained means using the homeopathic remedy that has been proven to produce symptoms in a healthy person to treat those symptoms in a sick person. For example, a person suffering from hay fever with symptoms of streaming eyes and nose could use the remedy Allium Cepa that is made from an onion, because a healthy person chopping onions usually experiences watering eyes and a runny nose.

The remedies are given in minute doses making them gentle, effective and safe and we only give the amount needed to stimulate the body’s own healing systems to start working – this is the principle of the minimum dose.

Because the remedies are safe and gentle homeopathy can be used even in situations where conventional medication may not be advisable, for example during pregnancy or for infants.
